A Home for the Metanoia Center
Children, 12 and older, are welcome to participate providing a parent or guardian accompanies, and supervises, them.
Please download, complete, and bring with you a copy, per person, of the Volunteer Release and Waiver Form. This form is good for the full calendar year. If you have provided us with a previous form during the calendar year of 2020 you will not need to bring another for this date.Opportunity Listing
Project: Tear Out Time Beginning with Prayer at 10am, we'll continue with rehabbing A Home for the Metanoia Center. Please come ready in clothes you don't mind getting dirty, and, now that summer is here, cool but safe clothing is in order. We recommend wearing a baseball cap or similar for this project and long sleeves. Ceiling and/or wall insulation may be involved.
We will be focusing our work on one, or more, of the following project areas: finalizing work left over from last work day, demoing the kitchen in apartment 1, removing ceilings and insulation from Apt 1. Removing tin roofing, dry wall, and flooring from the downstairs. Debris will be placed a truck or dumpster (if available).
Important: if you have a 6 foot folding A-frame ladder available to you - please bring it!

Lunch break is typically a 45 minute break and is provided. We do not have the capability to accommodate unique diet plans or diet restrictions. You can find out, the day before, "what's on the menu", by texting Phyllis @ 502.235.7005. You are welcome to bring your own food and cooler. Water is provided. There are a variety of restaurants within a 20 to 30 minute drive of our location. You are also welcome to contact a restaurant such as Chipotle or Chik-Fil-A to place your own group or individual order at your expense, if you are ordering out as a group, please let us know if so, so that we can adjust our order. We would be most happy to guide you as to what is available in the area for group ordering. Door Dash also delivers to this area. The facility is not heated, does not have running water or working restrooms. There are no working rest rooms in the immediate area. Emergency rest room needs can be acommodated within a short drive to our house.
The Metanoia Center will provide eye protection, gloves and face masks. Please bring hammers, crow bars, mini crow bars, screw drivers, chisels, hand saws, snips, needle nose pliers and standard pliers, channel locks and any other tools you feel will be helpful. Power tools on battery are welcome.
